Columbia Heights Manny Collins – Request for Public Assistance – May 28, 2025 The Columbia Heights Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Jordan Collins Jr. (commonly known by his nickname “Manny”). Manny, age 16, of Columbia Heights, MN, was last seen on May 8, 2025, near the 4900 block of University Ave NE wearing a white ribbed tank top with red/black plaid pants. He is 5’8″, 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Since he was last seen, there has been no known phone or social media activity by Manny. Law enforcement, with support from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, and Northstar Search and Rescue have been using all available resources to locate Manny. Multiple individuals have been interviewed, and forensic evidence has been collected and is being processed. Coordinated searches have been conducted at parks and in the neighborhood of 49th Avenue NE and University Avenue NE. A person of interest has been established in the disappearance of Manny Collins; however, no one has been arrested or formally charged.

  • 4:00 AM: Manny texted his mother for the last time. This is the final confirmed communication from him.
  • Later That Morning: He was last seen near the 4900 block of University Avenue NE, Columbia Heights.

Unusual Circumstance:

  • A neighbor reported that Manny’s father hadn’t been seen at the apartment for weeks. Manny may have been alone or unsupervised at the time of his disappearance.

May 9–10, 2025 – No Activity

  • Manny stopped communicating with his family and girlfriend.
  • He did not claim his allowance via CashApp.
  • His social media accounts went silent, and there were no outgoing messages or calls.
  • Authorities now suspect foul play and believe he was taken against his will during this time frame.

May 11, 2025 – Brief Phone Ping

  • Manny’s phone turned on for about three minutes, then shut off again.
  • No further activity has been detected.

May 12, 2025 – Missing Person Report Filed

  • Manny was officially reported missing to the Columbia Heights Police Department.
  • May 12, 2025, the Columbia Heights Police Department was dispatched to a report of a missing juvenile identified as Jordan Collins Jr., age 16, of Columbia Heights, MN. Jordan is 5’8″, 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen on May 8, 2025, in the 4900 block of University Avenue NE in Columbia Heights. Source

  • Law enforcement coordinated searches of nearby parks, buildings, and neighborhoods.
  • Investigators collected surveillance footage and interviewed neighbors.
  • FBI, BCA, NCMEC, and Northstar Search and Rescue joined the search.
  • Forensic evidence was collected from the apartment and other relevant locations.

May 19, 2025 Update: Columbia Heights Missing Teen 

  • On May 12, 2025, the Columbia Heights Police Department was dispatched to a report of a missing juvenile identified as Jordan Collins Jr., age 16, of Columbia Heights, MN. Jordan is 5’8″, 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen on May 8, 2025, in the 4900 block of University Avenue NE in Columbia Heights.
  • If you have any information on the whereabouts of Jordan Collins, Jr., please call Anoka County Emergency Dispatch – 911 at 763-427-1212. This incident remains under investigation by the Columbia Heights Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be released at this time

  • Manny is believed to have disappeared against his will.

Additionally, anyone in this area with home or business surveillance footage showing Manny, or any other suspicious footage, between May 8-12, 2025, is asked to submit the videos/photos to an evidence portal for processing. Law enforcement, family, and friends of Manny urge those with information about the disappearance of Manny to come forward with their information.

  • Uncle’s Plea for Help: Manny’s uncle has publicly expressed deep concern over his nephew’s disappearance. He has criticized the lack of cooperation from Manny’s father, Jordan Collins Sr., who was reportedly the last person to see Manny. In a heartfelt Facebook post, the uncle urged the community to assist in bringing Manny home, stating, “Let’s bring this baby home” Source

  • Investigators received information leading to surveillance video, which showed evidence suggesting a body had been placed in a dumpster, eventually making its way into a garbage truck.
  • Waste management officials used geofencing data to identify a specific landfill cell in Elk River to search.
  • The designated cell measured 200 feet by 200 feet by 4 feet, larger than a football field and compacted with refuse.

June 6, 2025

  • Update on the Disappearance of Manny Collins Investigation Law enforcement from the Columbia Heights Police Department, Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and Federal Bureau of Investigation are conducting a search at the Waste Management Landfill in the City of Elk River in relation to the disappearance of Manny Collins. This remains an active investigation and no further information is available at this time.   • Anoka County Sheriff’s Office: Authorities confirmed the remains belonged to Jordan Collins Jr., following forensic analysis. Source
  • Authorities tracked the garbage truck carrying Collins’ body on May 13 and estimated that he died sometime between then and May 8.
  • The case is being treated as a homicide investigation. 
  • At least one person of interest has been identified. LE is still interviewing Jordan Collins Sr. But cannot release any information at this time. 
  • The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy, but a cause of death has not yet been determined pending further testing.
  • Anoka County Sheriff Brad Wise said they are waiting for forensic testing to come back, but law enforcement are working with the Anoka County Attorney’s Office to determine potential charges.
  • More than 10,000 work hours have been invested by 30 agencies involved in the search and investigation.

  • Father of Manny Collins arrested in connection to teen’s death. Law enforcement took Jordan Dupree Collins Sr., age 38, of Columbia Heights, MN, into custody in relation to the death of his son, Jordan Dupree Collins, Jr. (commonly known as Manny). He has not yet been formally charged. Manny’s death remains under investigation by the Columbia Heights Police Department, Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
