Animal Wellness Center has opened their abandoned pet hospital to fire-displaced animals. Website
- Animal Care & Control is also working alongside Harvilicz to offer emergency shelter to large and small animals. For more information on available shelters in the area, click here.
- Vetster, an veterinary virtual care platform, is offering California residents free online appointments with licensed veterinarians for owners whose pets are feeling ill or are in need of medication that was left behind during an evacuation or lost to the fires. Visit the Vetster online help and support resource to set up an appointment. The offer is valid for one appointment per person for 500 pet parents from now until Jan. 23.
- Petco is offering a free service to families who have lost their pets to Los Angeles-area fires. If you know someone who lost or are missing a pet due to wildfires report them missing for free on Petco Love Lost online .
- Bath N’ Buns Mobile Pet Grooming: The locally-owned pet grooming service announced it will offer complimentary bath services for cats and dogs affected by the fires.

- YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is opening its locations that aren’t affected by the fires for temporary shelter, showers, basic amenities, and mental health support. They have also teamed up with L.A. Unified School District to provide childcare services for essential workers and affected families until schools reopen. Register on their website.
- Babyletto, a Los Angeles-based nursery furniture brand, is providing free cribs to any families who have lost their homes or otherwise are affected by the fires. For more information contact the company at info@babyletto.com
- Bobbie, an organic baby formula company, is providing any parent affected by the fires — Bobbie customer or not — with free baby formula. Fire victims can apply for the free formula at Bobbie’s online application.
- Los Angeles-area YMCA locations are offering free child care for children of first responders, essential workers and families who have been displaced, evacuated or who have otherwise experienced loss. Children must be at least 4 years, 9 months old up through eighth grade to attend the program. Space is limited. For more information or to sign up, contact afterschool@ymcaLA.org. - Community Resource Center in Pomona is offering free resources Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Provided items include baby supplies, emergency kits, food pantry and on-site resource referrals. - Upwards is supporting daycare providers and families impacted by the fires. Upwards is currently reaching out to daycare providers to ensure their safety, assisting with immediate needs and temporary lodging, and helping assess the damage and plan for recovery. The network is also assisting families in locating available childcare options. If you are a childcare provider or family in need of assistance, please reach out to Upwards at relief@upwards.com for support.

- Small Business Administration (SBA): Apply for disaster loans at the MySBA Loan Portal. Visit the MySBA Loan Portal to learn more and apply. You may also qualify for help from these agencies.
- California Fire Foundation: Relief efforts for survivors and emergency personnel.
- For Unemployment Assistance: Each state handles their own unemployment benefits programs. You can find your state’s program with the CareerOneStop Unemployment Benefits Finder tool.
- Musicares, a nonprofit safety net of health and welfare services for the music community, is offering immediate assistance to anyone in the music industry, including $1,500 in financial aid and $500 food vouchers. - Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation is providing emergency funds for members of the theatrical distribution and exhibition community affected by the Los Angeles-area fires.
- Inclusive Action has launched a new emergency fund to help outdoor workers that includes street vendors, landscapers and recyclers affected by the fires.
- Legal Miga Law is offering free contract guidance and review to individuals and businesses impacted by disruptions or delays caused by the Los Angeles-area wildfires. The firm can assist was leases, vendor agreements, client contracts and insurance policies. You can submit your request for assistance online .
- Los Angeles Regional Small Business Legal Aid Program provides free legal services to qualified small businesses on a number of legal issues such as review of commercial leases, assistance in communicating with landlords, reviewing insurance policies, navigating insurance claims, among other services. - East West Bank is offering a Skip a Pay program to any loan customer in Southern California who requests help due to the fires. The program will be rolled out next week. With no questions asked and no application needed, loan customers will be eligible to skip their next monthly payment and pay it instead one year from now. This will help fire victims not worry about a monthly bank payment.
- Californians who are unemployed due to the L.A. fires should apply for benefits right away, here.
- Calamigos Ranch, in Malibu, is offering free breakfast burritos every day and through the weekend from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Calamigos Beach Club restaurant.
- Highland Park Brewery is offering free lunch specials all weekend for first responders, evacuees or anyone affected by the fires. The specials include the HPB Burger, vegan chipotle burger, fried chicken sandwich, hot dog and grilled chicken club. On top of that, chef Caroline will offer her famous chili. The location is at 1220 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles 90012.
- Magical Castle Hollywood is transforming its parking lot on Tuesday (January 14) into a supportive place, distributing deli sandwiches, chips and cookies to individuals and families, challenges brought on by the fires.
- World Vision, a Christian-based relief organization, is distributing supplies to wildfire survivors at the World Vision Global Center on Sunday Jan. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. Supplies include food, water, face masks, toys, hygiene kits, bedding and more. The distribution center is located at 800 W. Chestnut Avenue, Monrovia 91016.

- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: The coffee shop is offering free brewed coffee or tea (hot or iced) to first responders at participating locations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The offer is valid through January 10–17 and redeemable by showing their ID in-store.
- Dog Haus: The restaurant offer one free hot dog to those impacted by the fire at their Pasadena restaurant and free meals to firefighters at their Los Ángeles locations.
- Instacart is waiving delivery fees on groceries and other essential goods for orders over $10 in Los Angeles. More here.

- Coop, real estate agent Jenna Cooper’s boutique, is offering free clothing for individuals and families affected by the fires from now until Jan. 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The boutique has pants, jackets, shirts, sweaters and shoes. It’s located at 7278 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles 90036

- Boll & Branch bedding brand is offering its Helping from Home platform to Los Angeles-area fire victims. Anyone can nominate someone in need to receive bedding by filling out the company’s online form .

- 24/7 Mental Health Helpline for Emergency and Clinical Services: Please call 1 (800) 854-7771
- GoodRx is offering free online healthcare provider visits through GoodRx Care to Los Angeles-area residents impacted by the wildfires. The visits can be used to get refills for essential medications that were left behind or destroyed in the fires. It can also be used for fast and easy treatment for a variety of conditions including the flu, a UTI and more. The service can be accessed online and Los Angeles residents can use the code LA-GOODRX-CARE.

- Baby2Baby has distributed over 1 million emergency supplies and essentials to the most vulnerable children. This includes diapers, formula, hygiene products, water, and more.
- California Fire Foundation is offering support to firefighters and emergency personnel as well as long-term relief efforts to survivors.
- Uber is offering free rides to survivors, up to $40, available until January 15, 2025. To claim this offer can be Lyft, Los Angeles residents can use the code “CAFIRERELIEF25” in the app for two rides up to $25 each ($50 total).

Connect to a satellite with your iPhone
If you have no cell phone connection you can use satellite features If you have an iPhone 14 or later (all models), you can connect your iPhone to a satellite to text emergency services, request roadside assistance, message friends and family, and share your location — all while you’re off the grid with no cellular and Wi-Fi coverage.
Open Connection Assistant
You can open the Connection Assistant in Control Center or in the Settings app:
- In Control Center: Swipe down from the top right corner of your iPhone to open Control Center, then tap the Cellular button
- on the right. Tap Satellite, then choose a satellite feature.
- In the Settings app: Open Settings, then tap Satellite and choose a satellite feature.
If you have cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, the Satellite option in Settings won’t appear and the Satellite option in Control Center opens the Satellite Connection Demo.

How to apply for FEMA assistance in Florida after Hurricane Milton
Assistance is available for affected homeowners and renters in the following counties:
Brevard, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Collier, DeSoto, Duval, Flagler, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sumter and Volusia and the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida.
Homeowners and renters who previously applied for assistance after hurricanes Debby and Helene must apply separately for assistance for Hurricane Milton. Each disaster event may require a separate home inspection.
The following information is needed to apply for FEMA aid:
If you have homeowners, renters or flood insurance file a claim with their property insurance company as soon as possible.
- A current phone number where you can be contacted.
- Your address at the time of the disaster and the address where you are now staying.
- Your Social Security number.
- A general list of damage and losses.
- Banking information if you choose direct deposit.
- If insured, the policy number or the agent and/or the company name.
What to expect:
- If FEMA need more information, FEMA will call, or send an email or a letter, to ask for what we need.
- If you had disaster damage to your home or personal property, FEMA may confirm the damage by an onsite or remote inspection.
- If you have homeowner’s insurance, FEMA may not send an inspector right away. You may need to submit insurance documents before we can schedule an inspection.
- If a FEMA inspector confirms your damage, you will get a decision letter after the inspection.
- If you’re approved, based on your choice, you may get a check from the U.S. Department of the Treasury or a direct deposit.
- Whether approved for disaster assistance or not, FEMA will send you a letter to explain the decision. The letter will also include instructions on how to appeal if you disagree with FEMA’s decision.

Palm Beach County
Palm Beach County will be opening five general population shelters, a pet-friendly shelter and a special needs shelter on Wednesday. The Special Needs Shelter will open and begin receiving pre-registeredresidents on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Five general population shelters at the locations below will be opened on Wednesday at noon:

The one pet-friendly shelter at West Boynton Recreation Center will be open at noon on Wednesday. Officials remind everyone to arrive at the shelter before tropical-storm-force winds are expected. Airbnb is providing free, temporary housing for people who have been displaced by Hurricane Helene in several US states. The organization has partnered with local nonprofits and 211 contact centers in Florida and North Carolina to connect people with a free place to stay.
FLUMC, United Way, GEM, and local 211 contact centers are identifying residents in need of temporary housing and help connect them to Airbnb.org stays. They are specifically focused on residents who have either lost their home or been forced to evacuate due to the Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Impacted residents can request assistance for temporary housing support from Airbnb.org in the following ways:
- Florida: Florida residents displaced by the storms and looking for housing support in Pinellas, Hernando, Hillsborough, Charlotte, Escambia, Santa Rosa, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Walton, Okaloosa, Gulf, Lee, Hendry, Glades, Leon, Taylor, Wakulla, Madison, Liberty, Gadsden, Franklin, and Jefferson should contact their local 211, which they can find at 211.org. Do you need to apply for FEMA disaster assistance? You can apply online now or get help to apply using one of the methods below:
- Call the FEMA Helpline: 1-800-621-3362, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (in your time zone), 7 days a week.
- Hours may be longer during high disaster activity. If you use a video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone (CTS), or other service, give FEMA your number for that service.
- Find a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) near you.
- DRCs are accessible and set up to provide help and answer questions after a disaster. The operating hours and services offered may vary at each DRC.

The FEMA Office of Disability Integration and Coordination helps people with disabilities before, during, and after disasters. After a disaster, they work with local partners to help organize support in many ways. They try to make sure any help and resources others provide meet the needs of people with disabilities.

Its important for residents to know if they live an evacuation zone, a low-lying, flood prone area, a mobile home or an unsafe structure during hurricane season.
