SLENDER MAN CASE FILE
Slender Man Stabbing Case
The Slender Man stabbing case shocked the nation in 2014 when two twelve year old girls, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, lured their friend Payton Leutner into the woods and attacked her in an attempt to please a fictional online character. Payton survived nineteen stab wounds and later helped unravel one of the most disturbing juvenile crimes in recent history. The case revealed a mix of shared delusion, severe mental illness, and the powerful influence of internet mythology on vulnerable children. Over the following decade both offenders were committed to state psychiatric institutions and placed under long term supervision. In 2025 the case resurfaced when Morgan Geyser escaped from her group home, triggering a multi state search and renewed concern from the victim’s family. This timeline documents the events from before the stabbing through the most recent developments.
