Place of Birth: Sacramento, California, USA
Parents: Sky William Roberts and Lynn Trude Cabell
Nationality: American
Known For: Survivor of child sex trafficking; whistleblower in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal

Virginia Roberts was born on August 9, 1983, in Sacramento, California. Her childhood was marked by instability; her family relocated frequently, eventually settling in Florida. Virginia experienced a turbulent home environment and early difficulties, culminating in her running away from home during her early teens.

At the age of 13, Virginia was living on the streets of Miami Beach when she was approached by Ron Eppinger, a self-described modeling agent affiliated with Perfect 10, which was, in reality, a front for a sex trafficking operation. Enticed by promises of food, shelter, and modeling work, she entered Eppinger’s world — a decision that began a harrowing chapter of sexual exploitation.

Throughout the summer and fall of 1997, Virginia was imprisoned in Eppinger’s Miami apartment along with other trafficked girls, many from Eastern Europe. She was systematically drugged, abused, and trained to work as an escort for wealthy clients. Nicknamed “Baby” by other captives, Virginia spent her 14th birthday heavily drugged and contemplating suicide. A police tip eventually forced Eppinger to relocate his operation, worsening Virginia’s isolation.

In early 1998, after managing to contact a friend, Virginia’s situation was uncovered by law enforcement. After a dramatic FBI raid at another handler’s home, Virginia was rescued. She cooperated with the FBI, providing critical testimony that helped secure Eppinger’s conviction. He died in prison two years later.

Following her rescue, Virginia cycled through juvenile detention and attempted to rebuild her life. She briefly reunited with her father, attended Forest Hill High School during the 1998–1999 school year, but eventually dropped out in 1999–2000 and took various jobs in retail and childcare.

Recruitment into Epstein’s Circle

April, 2000, Virginia’s father secured her a position at the prestigious Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, where he worked. Virginia worked as a locker room attendant, aspiring to pursue massage therapy. That fall, she encountered Ghislaine Maxwell, a British socialite closely connected to financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell offered Virginia a “massage opportunity” that led her to Epstein’s mansion. During her first visit, Epstein abused her under the guise of a massage. Over the following months and years (2000–2002), Virginia was groomed and repeatedly sexually exploited by Epstein and Maxwell. They also tasked her with recruiting other young girls under the pretense of offering them lucrative massage work.

Virginia was soon traveling aboard Epstein’s private jet — the infamous “Lolita Express” — and was trafficked internationally to high-profile Epstein associates. According to later legal testimony, she was forced to engage in sexual activities with powerful figures, including politicians, businessmen, and royalty.

Among her most prominent allegations was her claim that she was trafficked to Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and forced to have sex with him on multiple occasions in London, New York, and on Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James.

During this period, Virginia continued working intermittently at restaurants and businesses in Florida, including Mannino’s Restaurant (2001) and CCI of Royal Palm Inc (2002). In 2002, she also faced minor legal trouble, with a warrant issued for petit theft in Palm Beach County.

Breaking Free

By late 2002, as Virginia matured, Epstein and Maxwell began to show diminishing interest in her. Seizing an opportunity for freedom, Virginia traveled to Thailand in September 2002 for professional massage training — a plan funded through Epstein.

While in Thailand, she met Robert Giuffre, an Australian man, whom she married soon after. She left Epstein’s network permanently in 2003 and moved to Australia to begin a new life.

Later Life and Advocacy

Virginia focused on rebuilding her life in Australia, raising three children with her husband. Despite physical distance, the trauma of her past remained with her. In 2011, as news about Epstein’s crimes began to surface publicly, Virginia came forward with her story.

In 2015, Virginia filed explosive court documents in a federal lawsuit, directly accusing Epstein, Maxwell, and Prince Andrew of sex trafficking and sexual abuse. Her allegations made international headlines and brought renewed scrutiny to the extensive abuse networks operated by Epstein and his associates.

Over the following years, Virginia became a vocal advocate for trafficking survivors. She established the nonprofit organization Victims Refuse Silence, aimed at helping victims of sex trafficking reclaim their voices and seek justice.

In 2019, following Epstein’s arrest and subsequent death in federal custody, public interest in Virginia’s story intensified. Her courage in speaking out helped catalyze criminal investigations, civil lawsuits, and broader social awareness about the systemic failures that allowed Epstein’s abuse to persist for decades.

Day 1 with Ron Eppinger

Summer 1997

  • Black stretch limousine pulls up. Ron Eppinger (heavy, balding, late 50s – early 60s) and Yana (Czech girl, looks early 20s but actually late teens) invite 13-year-old Virginia into the car.
  • Eppinger introduces himself as owner of “Perfect 10” modeling agency. Offers food and a place to stay. Virginia lies and says she is 16; he sees through it, makes her admit she is 13, says “As long as you never lie to me again I will take you in.” They eat take-out by the water, then shop at GAP Kids and lingerie stores. Eppinger buys her tiny cutoff shorts, G-strings, revealing tops.
  • Taken to his luxury high-rise apartment overlooking Key Biscayne. Shown to the master bedroom with round bed and ceiling mirrors – told she will sleep with him. First night – Summer 1997

Next days / weeks – Summer 1997

  • Hair dyed much lighter blonde, shopping sprees, tanning beds, laser hair removal, starvation dieting.
  • Turned into a “teenage Barbie.” Forced to ride topless in Ron’s convertible “for an even tan.”
  • Trained by the Czech girls in orgies, oral sex, penetration with toys, role-playing – everything required of high-price escorts ($1,000+ per hour).
  • Ron keeps Virginia for himself; the other girls go out with clients.

August 9, 1997 (Virginia’s 14th birthday)

  • Drugged again, assaulted, contemplates jumping off the balcony but Yana stops her.

Late summer / early fall 1997

  • Moved with the whole group to Ron’s large horse ranch in Ocala, Florida, after an anonymous tip to police about an underage girl in the Key Biscayne apartment.
  • Virginia spends days riding horses alone, writing in her journal, trying to escape mentally.

  • Ron discovers Virginia has been secretly phoning an old friend (T.J.). In punishment he sends her to live with his associate “Charlie” in a Miami apartment. More sexual abuse.

  • Returned to her parents in Palm Beach County.

1998 – mid-1999 (age 14 – 15)

  • Back living with parents. Works odd jobs, including at McDonald’s. Still running away periodically.

Summer 1999 (Virginia says “summer of 1999 when I was fifteen,” actually turns 16 on August 9, 1999 – events begin just before)

  • Working summer job in the spa locker room at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach (her father is a maintenance supervisor there). Reading a book on anatomy/massage in the staff break area when Ghislaine Maxwell approaches her, comments on the book, says Jeffrey Epstein is looking for a traveling masseuse and it pays $200 an hour.
  • Virginia’s father drives her to Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion that same afternoon for a “try-out.”

First day at Epstein’s house – Summer 1999

  • Met by Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein. Taken upstairs. Maxwell and Epstein give her a “massage lesson” that turns into a sexual threesome. Paid $200 cash. Told to come back the next day.

  • Cuts off all contact with Epstein and Maxwell.
  • Changes name to Virginia Giuffre.

  • Suffers severe PTSD, addiction issues, and health problems.

2006 – 2007

  • First contacts Palm Beach police and FBI after reading about the investigation.

2008 – 2009

  • Identified as a victim in Epstein’s Florida non-prosecution agreement.
  • Virginia Receives settlement money but is bound by NDA.

2011

  • onward (post-memoir writing) Comes forward publicly, gives interviews, sues Maxwell, etc. – but the memoir itself ends with her escape to Australia in 2002.

This is the complete chronological sequence exactly as Virginia narrates it in The Billionaire’s Playboy Club. The only adjustment is noting that the Mar-a-Lago meeting was summer 1999 (she had just turned 16 a few weeks earlier, not 15, but everything else aligns perfectly with flight logs, photos, and court records).
